Ms. Catheline van den Branden, President, Executive Director

Catheline van den Branden, a woman of multicultural and multilingual background, lived and was schooled abroad until her teenage years. She graduated from Wellesley College in 1995 with a Major in International Relations and French Studies and pursued a Masters of Fine Arts degree at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco in 1998.

Catheline has over 10 years of experience in Public and International Relations. From the start, her career path has reflected her engagement in the fields she is passionate about: French culture and language, art and communications. Some of her accomplishments include the development of an important francophone network in Silicon Valley, directing literary segments of francophone websites, writing over 300 book reviews, illustrating for French publisher Gallimard. As a public and cultural affairs attaché for the government of Québec from 2004-2008, she spent much of her time promoting francophone artists, authors, and musicians in New England.

Catheline van den Branden believes French is a global language that can truly open doors to the world, and that through the celebration of our cultural diversity, we can help create bridges of understanding among people of all ages and backgrounds. It is with a vision of openness and inclusion that she leads the mission of the French Cultural Center.
