Do I have to be a member to take courses?

Yes. By enrolling in a course you automatically become a member of the French Cultural Center at a discounted rate (see the examples below). Membership entitles you to:

  • Full access to our Library
  • Exclusive, members-only events
  • Preferred rates for all our cultural events

Refunds, credit policies, and course changes

Refunds and class credit are not issued except in the case of class cancellation by the Education Department due to low enrollment (minimum enrollment is five students / class). Please contact the Education Department at 617.912.0415 for advice and options.

For private lessons, students must notify the department at least 24 hours in advance to cancel a lesson. Students will be charged the full fee for lessons cancelled less than 24 hours in advance. Purchased lessons and credits are valid for one year.

Books for adult courses

Books may be purchased at the Center. We suggest that you purchase the books in advance so that you may get familiar with the learning materials before the class starts.

  • Intermediate Latitudes 2 A2/B1 (FR 202-301) Textbook, Workbook and  CDs $60.00

  • Books are non-refundable

Books and materials for children's courses

  • Books are not required to be purchased for Summer in French Program.
  • For other books and materials for themed courses and children classes, contact the Education Department.
