Elizabeth Brown

Bonjour! My name is Elizabeth Brown. I was born and grew up north of Paris, in a town called Compiegne. My mother is French and my father is American so I was raised with two cultures and languages. I love both so much that after my literary CPGE (a two-year curriculum a bit like the Liberal Arts) in Paris, I decided to move to my father's country and teach my mother's language! I enjoy music, literature, and trips around the world. I look forward to meeting you at the French center and sharing what I love about French language and culture.

Bonjour, my name is Lucile. I was born and raised in France, in the beautiful Loire Valley. I am an artist with an MFA in painting from the ENSBA (Paris National School of Fine Arts). While living in Paris, I was an art teacher and ran workshops for children. When I married my husband, who is an Argentinean-American jazz musician based in Boston, I became a US resident. In addition to my dedication to painting and teaching, I enjoy reading world literature, watching movies and listening to different kinds of music. I look forward to sharing with you and your children my love for the French language and culture.

Born in Vendée, France, I have always been passionate about language and culture. After studying at the University of Nantes, the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, and Paris Diderot University (Paris 7), I became a holder of the agrégation in English (a high-level competitive examination for the recruitment of teachers in France) in 2003. I moved to Cambridge, England, in 2004 to teach French as a foreign language at Queens’ and Gonville and Caius Colleges. In 2006, I moved back to France, where I worked as an Assistant Lecturer and Researcher (ATER) in English Language and Literature at the University of Burgundy in Dijon. I flew across the pond in 2009 and I have since divided my time between working as a lecturer at Northeastern University and a teacher at the French Cultural Center of Boston, where I hope to have the pleasure to meet you and share my passion for the French language and culture with you!
